Ayodhya aims for Guinness World record with 24 Lakh diyas across 51 ghats, online diya booking launched

Tribal participants from Jharkhand's Pakur district bring a unique cultural touch to Ayodhya's Deepotsav. Around 48 individuals, residing in the mountainous region, arrive barefooted to partake in the grand celebration. The Jharkhand Pradesh Shri Ram Janaki Charitable Service Trust facilitates their attendance, marking the first visit of this tribe to Ayodhya. Their traditional lamp-lighting ceremony will be held on November 12, graced by the presence of Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.

Ayodhya Development Authority introduces online diya booking, allowing global participation in Deepotsav. Individuals can pay a nominal sum, ranging from Rs 51 for a diya to Rs 1,100 for 51 diyas, and virtually illuminate them at designated places. The e-Deepotsav portal provides a live feed of events, connecting worshippers of Lord Rama from various locations. Participants receive prizes, including lamps, cardamom seeds, souvenirs of Ramnami Gamcha, and more, delivered via courier based on their chosen package.

Ayodhya sets the stage for a monumental Deepotsav, aiming to create a Guinness World Record with 24 lakh diyas across 51 ghats. The Yogi Adityanath government plans to light 21 lakh earthen lamps simultaneously, surpassing last year's record of 15.76 lakh. Approximately 25,000 volunteers, primarily students from Dr Ram Manohar Lohia Avadh University, will contribute to this feat. The meticulous arrangement involves a 4.5-foot-wide block housing 256 diyas in a 16 by 16 formation, symbolizing a collective effort to achieve this luminous milestone.
